The 1978 Tribal Stomp CDR Tree is the next tree in a ongoing series of IABD concerts that will be offered to fans of "It's A Beautiful Day". It is anticipated that future shows to be offered will cover the band's transformation from its' inception right up to the present.
This tree is from the October 1, 1978 Tribal Stomp at the Greek Theater on the UC-Berkely
campus. The Tribal Stomp was a Family Dog reunion and a benefit for Chet
Helms, the founder of the Family Dog in San Francisco. The IABD show was a
reunion for most of the original band members who went by the name of "It
Was A Beautiful Day". Original members Pattie Santos and Fred Webb chose
not to participate in this event and were replaced by "Dominique" AKA Linda
Baker Laflamme on vocals and Mitch Froom on keyboards. Other bands performing that day
were: Paul Butterfield Blues Band (featuring Elvin Bishop, Mike Bloomfield
and Mark Naftalin), Country Joe & The Fish, Big Brother & the Holding
Company, Canned Heat and Lee Michaels. This show was professionally video taped and the audio source was transferred to CDR from the video soundtrack. It was then cleaned up and normalized using
Cool Edit.
